StencilStudio Alternative for Android and PC: Design a Tattoo From Text and Print It True-Size
Updated November 2, 2026. Prices checked on each company's own page that day.
If you don't have an iPhone, or you don't have a design yet, MyTattooStencil is a browser-based alternative to StencilStudio: you describe the tattoo in words, get an AI design, and export a true-size, mirrorable stencil PDF from any phone or computer, for a one-time $4.99 for 20 designs (about $0.25 each). StencilStudio's App Store listing says "Only for iPhone," and its own pages describe starting from "the reference you already have": a photo, drawing or existing design (App Store, StencilStudio). It's a well-rated tool (4.8 out of 5 from 444 US ratings on the day we checked) built for tattoo artists. The question is whether it fits someone getting their own first tattoo.
Platform and price, side by side

What one tattoo actually costs
| How many designs you want to try | StencilStudio (one-off packs) | MyTattooStencil |
|---|---|---|
| About 10 | $4.99 (100 credits) | $4.99 (20 designs, 10 left over) |
| About 20 | $9.98 (two 100-credit packs) | $4.99 |
| About 50 | $14.99 (500 credits) | $9.99 (60 designs) |
| About 100 | $24.99 (1,000 credits), or a $14.99 Pro Artist month | $19.98 (two 60-packs) |
StencilStudio's figures use its own estimate of 10 credits per standard stencil. If you're an artist making 100 or more stencils every month, StencilStudio's subscriptions come out cheaper per stencil, around $0.10 to $0.20, and you should use them. For one person and one tattoo, the small one-time pack is the cheaper way in.

StencilStudio's detail levels and Fit to Body are genuinely useful for an artist cleaning up a client's reference. If you already have a finished design and an iPhone, it's a strong choice.
When StencilStudio is the better pick
- You're a tattoo artist or apprentice turning client references into stencils every week.
- You already have the design and want to choose how much detail the stencil keeps.
- You work on an iPhone and print by AirPrint.
When a browser tool is the better pick
- You have an Android phone, or you'd rather design on a laptop that's already connected to your printer.
- You know roughly what you want ("small fine-line moth on the inner forearm, about 6 cm") but don't have a design to upload.
- You want 10 to 20 tries before your appointment without starting a monthly plan.
Before you print, whichever tool you use
Print the PDF at Actual size or 100%, on the paper size you exported (A4 on A4, Letter on Letter), then measure. In MyTattooStencil's PDF, the 10 cm square should measure 100 mm, give or take 2 mm. You can export a PREVIEW-marked test of your own uploaded image without signing in to check your printer before paying for anything. Step-by-step: how to make sure your stencil prints at the right size.
A printed stencil settles size and placement. Your tattoo artist will still redraw or adjust it for your skin and decide what detail will hold up at that size, so bring it as a starting point.
